A Process for Designing a Web 2.0 Instructional Activity

The following process is a general guide for educators who want to develop effective instructional activities that can be supported by Web 2.0 tools.
This guide is applicable across all age groups and for all sectors of learning.

The Web 2.0 Production Process
(At the end of each step is a link to questions/comments that will help you better understand that particular step of the process)

1: Determine the Instructional objective/outcome. (Content Section)

2: Determine if students can use/practice/access the tool. (Learner/Student Section)

3: Select the tool. (Web 2.0 Tools Section)

4: Be sure the tool can be used technically both by you and your students. (Technical Specifications/Requirements Section)

5: Design the lesson with the tool. (Educator/Teacher Section)

6: If possible, plan for some practice/experimenting time for yourself and your students.

Here is an example of what one teacher created for her classroom using a web 2.0 tool.
